The National Plan and Provider Enumeration System supplies public NPI identity, provider-type, taxonomy, practice-location, and source lifecycle fields used in the current product.

Candidate sources—not yet integrated
CMS Doctors & Clinicians / Care Compare, Medicare utilization datasets, public organization and facility-affiliation sources, and OIG exclusion data remain candidates for separate validation packages. NPIFolio does not currently claim those facts or relationships.
Any later exclusion or disciplinary-type enrichment would require strong deterministic identity matching, careful language, provenance, and dispute safeguards before public use.
